Holiday Parties Galore...

The holidays are a time for companies to give back and show their employees appreciation for their hard work during the year. Cue the holiday party and Cutmaster Music...

We started off this holiday season with Hanna Plumbing and Heating Company at the Albuquerque Country Club. This party was a nice "break-in" to this years parties with the family-feel of the ABQ Country Club. The night mostly consisted of country music, from Garth Brooks to George Strait, and mixed in the occasional oldie/funk songs of the 70's.  Overall, the evening was very nice and those that chose to hit the dance floor with us did not disappoint.

The next night we had two events, the A&R Medical Supply party at the Hilton and the Desert Rose Trading holiday party at Sandia Casino. Thomas covered the A&R Medical Supply party, reporting that a fun time was had by all (and mentioned he had pretty good steak for dinner!). I covered the Desert Rose Trading party and managed not to put one dime into a slot machine or hit one poker table while I was there (mission accomplished for the evening!). We started off the night in a smaller room with about 50 employees and owner Kenna, using a scavenger-hunt ice-breaker to get things going. One thing I really enjoyed about this party were the little games they had planned through out the evening. They were "quick-hitters" to keep things lively and interactive for all attendees. The musical-chairs game was hilarious, and the hula-hoops game was very fun to watch. I thought the guests had a great time and Kenna did a great job keeping things going through out the evening. Then came open dancing! This is where things got interesting... We played music ranging from Cumbias to current Top-40 and Dance music. It was a very eclectic group and I think we played at least one song from most genres that we would normally cover. With a few minutes left to play, Desert Rose Trading decided that the party was definitely not ready to be done. There were still many people hanging out (they must not have wanted to lose money in the casino) and all of the sudden, we received a rush of people into the room. Before we knew it, we were playing overtime and our dance floor became a nightclub for the party crashers from other rooms. Kenna was a great sport and realized that we were having a ton of fun and gladly accepted others coming into the party. It made for a great way to end the evening and our holiday party season. There's nothing like going out on a great note and knowing that we probably could have partied another hour or so. Everyone left with a great feeling and the night was definitely a success! Of course I forgot my camera at home, but am hoping Kenna will send me a few pics of the evening to put up on the site.

Overall, we had a short, but successful holiday season and are looking forward to our biggest and best year as Cutmaster Music 2010 rolls around!
